On ruvi and ruby (and arc)
Yoyo. Yesterday i played around with ruvi. It looks neat. Still not 100% there, but neat. Lypie promised to fix some stuff for me in it ;). Anyways, i want to start using ruby. Soon. I’m sick of C++. Perl is weird. I mean, for GUI programming, definitely. For a quick CLI hack, it’s more than ok. Python is a bit cumbersome. You can do nice hacks with it, but it’s a bit too verbose. Ruby looks good. I’m definitely learning ruby. It’s lispy. Like that ;).
On the language note, there is one very neat language in the works by Paul Graham and co. It’s a new (and yet unfinished) lisp dialect. It’s called arc. Did i mention it’s really neat? I’m all wet already ;). Wanna try it out. Till then, rock on ruby!
